Courtney Edwards specially trained in a new surgical procedure to remove adrenal tumors – retroperitoneoscopic adrenalectomy. This laparoscopic procedure allows us to approach the adrenal glands from the back instead of through the abdomen.

We are able to make fewer incisions and perform a much less invasive procedure than the traditional surgical approach.

This means that patients are generally in less pain postoperatively and can recover much faster. I am excited to bring this new technique to the patients at Memorial.
