Daniel looks at how we can do more for developing countries than just medical missions.

Daniel Murariu has been working in his native Romania via a non for profit he started in 2006 providing scholarships to financially needy rural students, assisting schools in Prisacani Commune, Iasi County where his grandfather was principal and organizing medical missions with teams from his alma mater, Tulane University, and Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmacy from Iasi, Romania. A Honolulu Sunset Rotary Club member since 2011, he has been awarded the 2012 Jerry C. Chang Peacemaker Award for District 5000 as well as a Hawai’i State of Representatives Proclamation for his local and international volunteer efforts. Daniel is a board certified general surgeon currently specializing in plastic and reconstructive surgery at University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA.
