Orthopaedic oncologists specialize in the treatment of primary bone and soft-tissue tumors, also known as sarcomas. Sarcomas are different from cancer that spreads to bones because they happen in a different kind of tissue. These tumors are most common in the bones, muscles, tendons, cartilage, nerves, fat, and blood vessels of your arms and legs, but they can happen anywhere and are more common in children and adolescents than in adults.
