(3) Dr. Marilyn Howarth interviewed by Larry Souder, WPEL Montrose

Dr. Marilyn Howarth is the Director of Occupational and Environmental Consultation Services at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. In addition to seeing patients with occupational and environmental exposures, she has worked with various public health agencies and community groups evaluating exposure risks for children. As an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer, she worked together with staff from ATSDR, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and the New Jersey State Department of Health (NJDOH) in individual and community risk assessment. As a faculty member at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and over the last five years at The University of Pennsylvania Medical School, she has worked with the NJDOH to provide medical education to medical providers who care for those living and working around hazardous waste sites in New Jersey. Dr. Howarth has given lectures on many subjects and has many publications in the field of Occupational & Environmental Health.
