Tomoaki Kato, M.D., is a transplant surgeon at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center. One of Dr. Kato's specialties is ex-vivo surgery, an emerging field where surgeons access difficult to reach tumors by removing organs, then removing the tumor, and returning the organ(s) to the body.
