Transcript: I'm James Clements; I'm family medicine physician here at Graves Gilbert Clinic. So the services that I provide here at Graves Gilbert Clinic in Glasgow, we see newborn patients immediately discharged from the hospitals all the way up through their great-grandparents. I have nursing home patients as well. One of my favorite parts of my job is making house calls to some of our patients that are bed bound or otherwise wouldn't be able to make it into the office. So we do full spectrum family medicine here. House calls are generally reserved for those patients who have been established in our practice and who are either bed bound or various other reasons aren't able to make it into the office. Often we care for those who are disable and their caregivers as well because there's many times when the caregivers can't find someone to stay with the patient for their own appointment actually. What excites me most about my job is that no two days are the same, no two patients are the same, especially doing full service family medicine seeing an infant in one room and then seeing a ninety year old grandmother in the very next room, seeing trauma that comes in people that may need a laceration repair or a moleremoved or someone with the common cold. You really never know what the next room brings. I've gotten the feeling over the past few years that, especially with the younger generations growing up, that there might not be that appreciation for primary care now in the days of urgent cares and walk-in clinics. While those both have their place, they should never replace the relationship that you develop with a physician over twenty, thirty, forty years. A lot of times people look great on paper, but yet somebody who's known them for a long time knows that something's wrong. Those are the things that your doctor should be able to know about you and that they've learned over that entire lifetime of treating you.
