Fighting Cancer Naturally - Dr. Joseph Mercola #N3
Earlier this year, Bloomberg News published its annual survey of the world's 40 healthiest countries. The United States, which is considered the wealthiest and most powerful nation on earth, finished 33rd on that list -- just below South Korea, and just above Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Other countries that finished above the U.S. in that survey included Cyprus, which is in full economic collapse, and Cuba, which is ruled by one of the few remaining communist governments.
Among the leading health problems in America are heart disease, cancer, stroke, and respiratory ailments. Type Two Diabetes, which can lead to heart disease and stroke, as well as blindness, is at near-epidemic levels.
Many of our problems are the result of lifestyle choices that lead to obesity and hypertension. All of these problems will become more acute and commonplace as the population ages -- and the costs of providing care for people suffering chronic health problems will increase dramatically.
What can be done to make America healthier? Do we need to rethink our approach to healthcare in fundamental ways? We'll discuss these issues with Dr. Joseph Mercola.
A best-selling author whose expertise is sought by publications and news programs nation-wide, Dr. Mercola was chief resident at the Chicago Osteopathic hospital. A state-licensed Physician and Surgeon, Dr. Mercola was also the Chairman of the Department of Family Practice at St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
