Dean Neuls & Dr. Thomas Gross Talk Hip Resurfacing
Dr. Gross is a world-renowned surgeon and owner of Midlands Orthopaedic in Columbia, South Carolina. In fact, Dr. Gross has performed more of these “miracle” hip surgeries than any other doctor in America.
I recorded a video with Dr. Gross just one day after my surgery, and I can say my pain is maybe a 2 out of 10. Better yet, I’m comforted by the 20-year “survivorship” rate of this kind of hip replacement. That is, the number of patients who still have full use of their hips after 20 years. Dr. Gross’s survivorship rate is a whopping 95%!
What’s the average total hip replacement 20-year survivorship? A measly 50%. Yep, 1 in every 2 total hip replacement patients need to go back in for another surgery within 20 years of their first one. (Usually, it’s around 10-15 years!)
So if you’re 60 and get a total hip replacement, you may have to undergo another 2 or more major surgeries on that hip. Worse yet, each surgery is more difficult and has a lower success rate than the last. Not a very comforting thought.
So that’s why I think you’ll want to see the new interview I did with Dr. Gross. In it, he reveals this amazing procedure that gives formerly active folks their active lives back again!
