Dr. Thomas Winek and Treatment of Varicose Veins
Born in Wisconsin, Dr. Winek was glad to stay in the area by joining the highly qualified team at Fox Valley Surgical Associates in 1990. His philosophy of care involves providing patients, families and physicians with all the information they need to provide them with realistic expectations. He believes a dose of information and humor before surgery goes a long way toward encouraging patient recovery. Dr. Winek’s goal is to create a comfortable situation to encourage quick and healthy recoveries.
After graduating from University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Dr. Winek received his general surgery education and continued his education with a vascular surgery fellowship at Oregon Health and Science University.
To stay on top of the latest techniques in general and vascular surgery, Dr. Winek belongs to various medical organizations, including American College of Surgeons, Wisconsin Medical Society, Wisconsin Surgical Society, and Midwestern Vascular Surgical Society. Dr. Winek has given several presentations across the nation and has been published in Archives of Surgery and The American Journal of Surgery.
